Questions Parents Ask

What age can my child start volleyball?

Kids can start volleyball as early as grade 1 (age 6) at Volleybox. Our Mini League and Grade 1-5 camps are designed specifically for younger athletes with age-appropriate drills and games.

Does my child need experience to join Volleybox?

No experience needed at all! Our All-Skills Fundamentals program is specifically designed for kids who have never touched a volleyball. We teach the basics (serving, passing, setting) in a fun, supportive environment.

Is volleyball safe for kids?

Volleyball is one of the safest youth sports. At Volleybox, we take safety further with the highest-rated sports flooring in Canada, professional coaching focused on proper technique, and age-appropriate training that prioritizes development over competition.

What if my child doesn't like volleyball?

Most kids who try volleyball at Volleybox love it! The team environment, the variety of skills, and the fun drills keep kids engaged. Our All-Skills classes run in short sessions so your child can try it without a long commitment.

How is volleyball different from other youth sports like soccer or gymnastics?

Volleyball is a team sport that develops coordination, communication, and confidence. Unlike individual sports, every rally requires teamwork. It's also low-contact and played indoors, so weather and injuries are less of a concern. Many parents find it's the sport that finally clicks for their child.
