First-Timer Questions
Does my child need any volleyball experience?
No. Every program on this page takes total beginners. Most kids who start with us have never played, and coaches begin at the basics: how to serve, how to pass, how to play with a team. Coaches place every athlete at their level. New players start at White. You never have to guess.
What grade or age is right for my child?
Grades 1 to 3 join Mini League Grades 1 to 3. Grades 4 and 5 join Mini League Grades 4 to 5. In grade 5, girls can also join All-Skills Fundamentals and boys can also join Boys All-Skills, so a grade 5 can go either way. Grades 6 to 9 go to All-Skills Fundamentals for girls and Boys All-Skills for boys. Grade 10 boys join Boys All-Skills. Fall beginner classes run to grade 9 for girls and grade 10 for boys, so above that, call us at (604) 356-1157 and we will find the right fit for your athlete.
What should my child bring?
Indoor shoes, a water bottle, and clothes they can move in. We provide all the volleyballs and equipment. Exact details are on each program's registration page.
When and where do the programs run?
The fall season runs September to December in two rounds of about six weeks, and you buy one round at a time. All-Skills Fundamentals runs Sep 13 to Oct 26, then Nov 1 to Dec 7. Boys All-Skills runs Sep 14 to Oct 26, then Nov 2 to Dec 7. Mini League runs Sep 8 to Oct 24, then Oct 27 to Dec 10. Classes skip the Thanksgiving weekend dates, so there is no Sunday class on October 11 and no Monday class on October 12. Mini League weekday practices run as normal that week, and there is no Saturday game day on October 10. Everything happens at our own centre: 18733 52nd Avenue, Unit 104, Surrey, BC, in Cloverdale on the border of Surrey and Langley. Each program's own days and times are on its card above.
How much does it cost and what is included?
Mini League is $185 a round, which includes the weekday practice and the Saturday game days. All-Skills Fundamentals and Boys All-Skills are $195 a round for six sessions. Coaching and all equipment are included in every one of them. If your child plays both rounds, the full fall is $370 plus GST for Mini League and $390 plus GST for the classes. You register one round at a time and the second round is never required. Each program also has a monthly membership, shown on its program page. Prices are before GST. The exact total, with tax, is shown before you enter a card.
