Program Overview
The Volleybox Minor League volleyball program is dedicated to providing its female athletes with an opportunity to practice and compete in a team environment. The Spring Minor League Season will run from May through the end of July. All teams will train and compete at the Volleybox Sports Centre.

Athletes who wish to participate will need to try out first. Once tryouts are complete, athletes that have been selected will be emailed invitations.

Practice Schedule
Our teams train once a week for 1.5 hours, starting from the week of May 13th and continuing throughout the season. Our sessions are designed to emphasize team skills, from defensive strategies to offensive systems. While we prioritize team dynamics, those seeking individual skills enhancement can explore our diverse range of training classes. While Volleybox staff is responsible to create and help facilitate practices, each team will be assigned a parent coach to run drills and ensure they have enough players for their matches.
Practices begin week of May 13th, 2025.
Grade 5, 6 & 7 Teams
3 Options:
Tuesdays (5:00 PM - 6:30 PM)
Wednesdays (5:00 PM - 6:30 PM)
Thursdays (5:00 PM - 6:30 PM)

Practice Schedule Update – Starting in July
Beginning in July, all teams will transition to either a Monday or Tuesday practice schedule. Team placements for these practice days will be determined based on team evaluations and will be communicated to athletes and families with the full schedule release on May 11th.

Mondays | 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM

Grade 8, 9 & 10 Teams
Mondays | 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM

League Games
Schedule:
May 24th to June 28th, 2025
Fridays between 5:00 PM - 9:30 PM.
Saturdays between 1:00 PM - 8:30 PM.
July 2nd to July 24th, 2025
Wednesdays between 4:00 PM - 10:00 PM.
Thursdays between 4:00 PM - 10:00 PM.
Final Schedule will be released on May 11th, 2025, once teams and rankings are formed. Schedule and competition depends on number of teams in the league.
Your team’s game schedule will vary each week, with a random generator used to ensure fair distribution of time slots across all teams. During the first half of the season, games will be scheduled on Fridays and Saturdays, transitioning to Wednesdays and Thursdays in July.
Outside conflicts must be accommodated around your team’s assigned schedule, as we are unable to adjust game times for external commitments. Please refer to TeamSnap for your team’s full season schedule.
NEW THIS UPCOMING SEASON
Tier System - Team Evaluations
Tier System:
This season, we are introducing a two-tier system in our Minor League. Teams will be divided into Tier 1 and Tier 2, with placements determined by our Lead Head Coach based on evaluations from previous programs at Volleybox and tryouts for new athletes.
Grade 5, 6 & 7: Tier 1 and Tier 2 divisions
Grade 8, 9 & 10: Tier 1 and Tier 2 divisions
This system will help create a more competitive environment for those who are ready for a higher level of play, while also maintaining a fun and development-focused space for those still learning and growing at a beginner pace. Teams will be formed based on skill level and evaluations.
Team Evaluations:
The teams will be made based off of previous program attendance and tryout evaluations. We will do our best to accommodate friend requests and preferred practice dates when finalizing teams.
League Play (Updated)
All league matches will be scheduled on Fridays/Saturdays (May-June) and Wednesdays/Thursdays (July). Each game day, teams will compete in a best of 3 match.
(NEW) If matches finish earlier teams will play an additional set if time permits.
(NEW) Games will be officiated by youth officials.

Calling All Parents: We Need Your Help!
As you know, finding volunteer coaches is one of the hardest things to do, yet it’s crucial for making our league fun and successful. We need dedicated parents to join us as volunteer coaches for our youth volleyball teams. No prior coaching experience is needed – just a willingness to support and guide our young athletes. Our Volleybox Coaches will provide you with practice plans and all the support you need.
Having enough coaches is the heart and soul of our league. To show our appreciation, we will refund your child’s registration fees.
